Good
Large comfortable rooms, Nice swimming pools, access to sea.
The main part of the accommodation is a few hundred meters up the hill, only accessible by a very slow cable car or by trying to catch a member of staff in a golf buggy. This was not very convenient at peak times like breakfast.

What was the highlight of SYLVAN Koh Chang
It was perfect for what we wanted. The pool villa was beautiful, definitley worth the dollars $$.
The hotel staff werre friendly and the service excellent. Breakfast was 'buffet style' so catered to all tastes. The views were spectacular. I highly recommend hiring a kayak and paddling over to Koh Man Nai, as it's so close and such a lovely small island. The hermit crabs on the beach were fun to watch while we swam in near the shore. We kayaked around the back of the island, but I don't recommend this as it's deep water and quite choppy. The rainforest spa is a must. The staff were highly skilled, and it was one of the best massages we have expereinced in a long time. If you use the facilities you can watch the monkeys in the trees playing from the pool and just chill. We stayed in a pool villa, which was exceptional! Perfect for R'n'R which is why we travelled to the island. We would most definitely return to this hotel.
Driving around the island the hills are steep. The other side of the island is flat but not much to do. We went to go on a boat to the mangroves, but it was a 4 hour wait, so we left and drove all the way around Indy beach area and the fishermans wharf, back near our hotel. Along the way there are plenty of places to stop for food and photo opportunities too.

What was the highlight of SYLVAN Koh Chang
Overall we had an amazing time and would definitely come back for another stay.
We loved the view, the beach, the pools, the breakfast buffet and the service. The cleaning staff was excellent and the rooms were very clean. We loved all the staff at the Buffet, the Sunset restaurant and the Pool Bar. Everyone was great. The location was excellent with the free shuttle to town along with the ease of getting a taxi. We were a group of 13 and the hotel did an amazing job of accommodating us. Kaibae is a great little beach town which is super close by taxi or shuttle and even walkable if you choose to.
The beds could be a little more comfortable. The prices at the bar and restaurant could be a little more competitive with other surrounding restaurants and bars. The Cable car could be upgraded, it broke down a few times on us, but the hotel was great about sending golf carts to take us wherever we wanted to go. We also didn't like the fact that some of the prizes on New Years was to ride and swim with the elephants, we feel that this is unethical.
